This piece was conceived when I wondered - what does Summer do during the rest of the year? I tried to create a striking contrast between the dull, overcast gray of the background, and the vibrant, warm glow of the figure. It does not show very well on the web, but the hair is painted with a glazing technique that lets the brightness of the canvas glow through the glossy golden color.
